Design, I was presented with a challenging yet thrilling task: to redefine the art direction and conduct a graphic overhaul for the Hyperloop, the visionary future mode of transportation conceived by Elon Musk. This project was not just an assignment; it was an opportunity to manifest my dedication to minimalism in digital design. The brief was straightforward but ambitious: "Rebrand the Hyperloop's visual identity."

"In design, as in hyper-speed travel, simplicity propels us furthest."

Embarking on this journey in September 2022, while concurrently penning my white paper on the enduring and sustainable trend of web minimalism, I aimed to apply the very principles I was advocating. My research began with a dive into the origins of this futuristic concept, tracing it back to an idea that seemed to leap from the pages of Jules Verne's "A Day of a Journalist in 2889" – a train speeding through a tube.

Despite numerous attempts to encapsulate the Hyperloop's essence – its unprecedented speed and the iconic shape of the train and tunnel – in a logo, initial designs fell short of our vision. This impasse led us to a pivotal realization: to achieve a truly impactful design, we needed to strip back to the fundamentals, embodying the principles of web minimalism. Thus, the final logo design emerged, elegantly simple yet profoundly symbolic, depicting the Hyperloop tunnel with two dots representing the train's headlights, hurtling towards the viewer at hypersonic speed.
